Human factors is the study of the interrelationship between humans, the tools and equipment they use in the workplace, and the environment in which they work. Part 1 will provide a general overview of human factors, including the introduction of this scientific discipline into healthcare in Alberta. Our speaker will also share how this body of knowledge can be used to design or evaluate healthcare processes, information, equipment, and environments. Parts 2 and 3 will be held this fall and will focus on applying human factors to enhance medication safety and facility design.
