Typing with Prosthetic Hand

OSCEai Dementia

De-escalation Training Project

The OSCEai Dementia De-escalation Training Project aims to reduce the use of inappropriate antipsychotic mediations in dementia care by using AI simulations to train frontline staff.

Social Innovation & Innovation Enhancement Projects

In collaboration with ICCER members, several short-term projects were funded and implemented. These projects are aimed towards improving care and quality of life by implementing ideas developed by front-line workers.

Community Garden

Community Needs Driven Research Network

In 2012, ICCER received funding from Alberta Innovates Health Solutions to develop a Community Needs Driven Research Network (CNDRN) to identify major issues that front-line staff face.

With the aim of reducing social isolation for persons with dementia, this toolkit provides activities to increase communication between caregivers and individuals with dementia.

Embedding Palliative Approach to Care

Embedding a Palliative Approach to Care (EPAC) was originally developed by Vancouver Coastal Health. The model of care is intended to improve the end-of-life (EOL) experience for residents in care, as well as for their family, surviving residents and healthcare staff.
